about
My hometown is a bit of a recurring theme for me lately, though I can't quite understand why. Which is a cliche, but I'm fine with that. This is just a memory I have from when I was very little and waterparks were a new thing in Queensland. My uncle really did knock his teeth out on the fast slide at the park near our house. I'm not sure how accurately I recall the event - I could have sought accounts from family members who were there and remember it more clearly but, it's a song not a history book. Anyway, I remember that despite this pretty horrible injury and there being blood everywhere, people just kept on going down the slides, not letting it spoil a good time, which seems very Australian, now I think about it. The Woolshed as it was called (it had previously been a sheep farm and had a little shearers museum on site) closed down sometime ago along with most of the other waterparks. I don't know why, waterslides haven't stopped being fun have they? I blame Playstation.
